This is where Id like to tell you that my DJ service is completely unique and different from the rest of the DJ's. Im actually also an IT / PC tech. That means I work on computers, however, I have also been DJing since 1979. This gives me very advanced abilities that other DJ's do not have or cant offer. One special ability we have that no other DJ service offers is to broadcast your party online on the internet "Live" (audio and video), like an internet Radio or Television station. Another example is that all my music is virtual. This means its on a computer in digital format as an mp3. I dont use CD's or records. With this in mind, and unlike other DJ's who are confined to playing only what they have in their music libraries, I specifically play the music you and your guests want to hear. (Read on->)

Heres how I do this....you gather all the mp3's and CD's from your music library and when we meet, I "borrow" your music. This way, everybody is satisfied. However, I did want you to know I do specialize in High Intensity Club Dance Music, if you so wish to hear that also (and I also have all the hits going back to the 1940s). I offer to borrow and play up to 45 of your songs (5 mins max each song) in the price of the contract. Thats over 3 hours of specifically the music you and your guests want to hear ! To top it off, all the CD's I borrow are given back to you, as you are the owner of this music !

DJGoTee is offering a 2 hour "music only" special for an unheard of price of $200.00 (cash). Music only, which means I do not even bring a microphone. Lights are extra. DJGoTee selects and plays music of his choice, but dont worry, it will be High intensity CLUB style dance music. If the customer is savey enough, they will prepare their guests to enjoy a "Club Like" music setting and I suggest customers tell thier guests that no requests will be accepted. All music will be beat mixed, which means the music will not stop from when it begins to the end of the party (at the end of 2 hours). Sorry, no outdoor parties. The party must be in a controlled atmosphere, as is written into the contract. The party location must be within 20 miles of downtown Ocala Florida and within Marion County. If youd like to experience what the music for this special offer will be like, Tune into our TV / Radio Station described above on friday and saturday nights, or check out these videos from You Tube:

How To Choose Your Wedding Disc Jockey and caveats to avoid....The following information is from an outside independent source that reviews the Disc Jockey service field.

Your wedding DJ determines whether your reception is a boom or bust...

There are thousands of wedding disc jockeys! But how do you find the wedding disc jockey that's perfect for you? Here you'll find all the caveats to avoid, questions to ask, what DJ equipment they should be using, and what you should have included in your contract. Many tips on this page are only our opinion, you must choose what you feel is right for your wedding.

Choosing your wedding DJ is the best part of your wedding preparations. You get to meet a lot of wedding industry people who are generally nice, outgoing, and personable. Of course the big debate is DJ or Band. That's always one of the hard decisions a newlywed couple must make. The biggest advantage a wedding DJ has over a band is cost. There are some lousy bands out there and many awesome bands too, but most all bands can cost a lot of money. I saw an excellent band at a function that charged $4000 for the 8 member group.

Band Or DJ? That is the question! Here, we will focus on DJs. Remember, the bands need to take breaks, so they play only a few 15-20 minute sets.  But this article is about DJ's.  We chose a wedding disc jockey due to cost, and we did not have to worry about a marginal singer crooning our favorite songs out of tune, which we see a lot of here in Florida.   Those are the people you need to avoid.  But I suspect that you'll have the least amount of problems with your DJ than any other vendor, because the vast majority of DJs are great.

A good wedding DJ is FAR cheaper than bands, and they dynamically work your wedding crowd for 4 hours or more  In rare cases a band might party hardy then decide they don't want to show up. This always happens more than a DJ not showing up.

    Interview your DJ
Don't rush to pick your wedding DJ, they all have different personalities. Ask to meet with them in person. If you have special song requests, ask the DJ if they have it or if they can work with you to have the music played that you want to hear specifically. Make sure your DJ has an outgoing easy personality with good communication skills. For instance, communication between a DJ and catering manager is what keeps your function running smoothly.  A DJ's talent should reach beyond just making the announcements at the right time.  They must know what is going on.

What about wedding DJ overtime, and other unexpected or possible hidden fees?

Your contract should clearly specify all costs associated with your wedding DJ, including any assistant disc jockeys they will have with them, as well as special equipment lighting packages, or other fees that they pass on to you the client.  You must also plan for overtime in case the reception runs longer than the contract specifies.  The contract should clearly spell out how much extra it will cost you to have your wedding DJ for an extra hour or 2.  You don't want surprises, your wedding DJ contract should be a game plan that covers all bases so  you know exactly how much your DJ will cost you.

What attire will your wedding disc jockey wear at your wedding?

Sounds like a no brainer, but you usually want your DJ to wear a suit.

How many years experience does this wedding DJ have? Will they play CD's, mp3's you provide?

A good example of an experienced Dj is one with at least 5 years under his or her belt.

As for playing what you want to hear, some wedding disc jockey do not give you much choice. Let your DJ be your guide as to what songs should be played. A good disc jockey reads the crowd and knows what to play.  Be sure they know what NOT to play, as well as special songs you want to hear. This step is VERY crucial, because your wedding DJ plays about 60 songs during your reception, and you want nothing but the best tunes to keep your dance floor crowded. If the DJ needs to intervene and suggest a song, heed them as they generally know what they are doing and keep up with the current trends. You want a wedding DJ who can adapt to any crowd.  This DJ will be someone who is very well versed in all areas music.  You hired a DJ not a juke box operator.  If they stick to your play list, I can guarantee you'll have an empty dance floor. Your musical taste is not the same as 120 people at your wedding. Let your DJ do their job and keep your wedding guests happy.

How Much Do Wedding DJs cost?

The best thing about wedding DJs is you can find a DJ to fit your budget, from casual guys who moonlight on parties, all the way up to professional wedding and corporate types. There are very good moonlighting DJ's that might only charge $450. You'll find DJ's charge $650 up to $1900 depending on the area. In San Diego for example, you might expect to pay in the $1300 for a true professional top notch wedding DJ, and no fancy lighting. In 1996 in Boca Raton, FL, our DJ's employees charged $800. But we chose the owner, who was $950 and the price is definatly higher by now.

Let the DJ ask you questions too like what you do or don't want to hear. You want someone who takes an interest in what YOU want. We also met with the DJ one last time a few days before the wedding where he phonetically pronounced each person's name he was going to introduce at the wedding. This is a great added touch because no one likes to have their name mispronounced at a wedding. You may want to hire the owner of the DJ company, like we did, even though they usually charge more than the employees. The owner usually is the smartest one and has the most experience.

    Stupid DJ Tricks

1)We recommend that you do not hire a DJ who is nothing more than a "Loudmouth". Smooth conversations with a crowd and natural sounding announcments are best. "Loud, obnotious DJs could ruin your party!

2)Dont hire a DJ who acts like a clown. If you want a clown, hire a professional clown who knows what a clown does. A DJ is a DJ, a clown is a clown.

3)Dont let anyone tell you that a DJ with nightclub or large venue experience is not as good as a so called "wedding DJ". In fact, most all nighclub DJ's have even more experience controlling a crowd with the correct type of music and smooth conversations then most so called wedding DJ's.

4)Dont hire a DJ with sub standard equipment (see below). Ask to see the equipment in person, if time and venue will allow, or at least look at pictures of the equipment.

The above statements also apply when hiring a party DJ.

Technical Issues to consider. Everyone overlooks this, but it is one of the most important factors when choosing your DJ. You are paying money for a professional and they better know their equipment. Ask them what speakers and amps they use. The better brand names are B 52 high power professional speakers, Crown and American Audio. If they use a computer, Hewlett Packard (and a PC that has a Dual core processor)  But this is not an exhaustive list, there are other good names as well.  You don't want them using home stereo amplifiers and speakers because they will fail under the volume of use.

Lighting is another thing to consider. Does your DJ have advanced lighting?

You Must Have A Clear, Concise, Written Contract!

The contract should clearly state WHO will be your wedding DJ. If it is the owner, you want their name on your contract, with no switches allowed. You spent time interviewing the owner and you want that DJ listed. If they are using an assistant, make them itemize that as well. Did you agree to rent any additional lighting through your DJ? Better have that on there too.  Your contract should list what type of standard lighting you are getting as well.  Also have them list what their overtime charge is in case you decide to run late. You don't want any surprises there. Make sure all correct dates, times, address, phone numbers, and deposits are listed.

So here is an example from a person who put together a party... the owner of the DJ Service for 4 hours at $750, plus $300 for additional computerized lighting. This also included an assistant, which is a great thing for a DJ to have. I know we went overboard, but what a show.  It was still cheaper than the bands we looked at.  One band was $4000!  We ended up keeping the DJ for an extra hour and paid another $150, which was already stated in the contract. Sure this seems steep, and yes we could have done just the bare bones package, but its far cheaper then a band.  Remember though, you get what you pay for.  We got more than what we paid for.  How many weddings were you at where several guests commented it was the best DJ they've ever seen?  Our wedding was like that.

There are plenty of inexpensive DJs out there who will give you a wonderful evening. Some of you may not want all the glitz and flash we had. We did find the DJs however, to be the easiest of all the wedding industry people to work with. And you don't have to spend $1050! Just have fun picking your wedding disc jockey.

    Good luck!
